CARPOOLING ETHICS
Schoolber carpoolers are advise to follow these rules of make your carpooling an enjoyable experience.
- You may agree to an initial trial period so both parties can get used to the process and if not comfortable you can anytime ask for change.
- Be respectful to each other
- Ride with more than one other individual. This makes the experience safer and enhances all aspects of the program.
- Make your pick-up / drop-off point a comfortable and safe location. (You may desire to make this arrangement permanent).
- Be frank about your preferences. Smoker / Non-smoker, Hygienic and any such preferences.
- Late coming and no-show is discouraged in Carpooling. Please make sure that you are there on time.
- In the event that carpooling cannot happen for certain reason, please communicate with the parents to seek understanding and agree on an alternative arrangements

How do I register my child for Schoolber Carpool?
You can download the Schoolber App from Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After you have downloaded, create your profile and your dependents profile. After which you will be able to create a trip request for your child.

How does it work for the riders?
Submit a ride request based on your pickup and destination locations. Schoolber app will automatically matched the best carpool partner based on your commute route.

Is booster seats required for younger kids?
In our registration, we take note of the height of the child. If they are below 1.35m, based on SPF regulations, the child will require booster seats or approved adjustable seat belts. The parents of the child are encouraged to procure Mifold Garb-n-Go Car Booster Seatiin order to ensure that their child is safely strap in before the trip begins. Mifold meets the European Union Regulatory standard of ECE R44/04 and ECE R129. It is small, foldable and compact for the child to bring along when carpooling.

What is the benefit of using Schoolber?

This highly reduced the chance of drivers not turning up as scheduled. We encourage the parent riders and parent drivers to communicate with each other timely so as to avoid disruption to the children. What does it take to be a Schoolber carpool driver?
After successful registration, drivers are required to provide relevant documents like drivers license, driving records, valid motor insurance, child’s school information, Traffic Police DIPS & SPENT Records to complete the driver profiling and screening before they can be accept carpool request.

Can I make money with Schoolber carpooling?
Under Road Traffic Act (Chapter 276) Road Traffic (Car Pools) (Exemption) Order 2015, a car owner can now accept payment from passengers who carpool. It is however illegal for drivers to solicit for passengers on the road, in public spaces or parking lots. Destinations of passengers must be clarified before the journey and drivers cannot offer more than two rides per day. Carpooling focuses on covering costs, not generating an income. making it a great way for drivers to earn a bit of petrol money and cover wear and tear on their vehicle.

You will need to register a company with ACRA, convert your vehicle and get a commercial insurance license. Our customer service will link you up with our partners to get all the necessary documents completed.

PRICING FOR CARPOOL
How is it priced?
Schoolber is a carpool platform and we charge a non-refundable calendaring fee. This calendaring fee allows the user to provide their schedule with the app for matching. There are no refund and pro-rate on the fee

How is the ride charged?
Once a match is made, only paid users will get access the other parties contact. Schoolber will provide an estimated transport fee based on the distance. The estimated transport fee is based on per seat. The actual transport fees can still be discussed and agreed upon by both parents.
